STA 6166 Statistical Methods in Research I (Distance Learning)

Distance learning course :

As most distance learning courses this course is coordinated by using an e-learning environment consisting in a series of presentations in power-point and recorded videos that present and discuss the material presented in the course notes. All of this material can be directly accessed by internet.

A word of warning :

In this class you will perform individual work ‘assisted’ by the instructor and with support of the textbook. Videos of the classes will be available and these usually correspond to the parallel on-campus course. This is not a basic statistic class, and there will be no detailed description of mathematical and statistical topics as they are assumed to be known but forgotten. If your statistical background is good, then this class will require moderate dedication; however, if your prior statistical background is weak then you should take a formal on-campus graduate or undergraduate class (e.g. STA2023), unless you have plenty of time to assign for individual study (an average student a web-based class takes more time than an on campus-based class for the same grades). In addition, we assume that you are self motivated to perform well in this class as you will be performing statistical analysis in the future (dissertation, research papers).
